“The Chairman of the University of Illinois Board of Trustees is responsible for governing the entire University of Illinois system,” said Jan Dennis, Assistant Director for the Office of University Relations.
Dennis said that all hiring, academic programs, research and anything University related goes through the board of trustees.
The Office of Media Relations is currently unsure of any main plans Dr. Koritz may have for his second term as chairman.
“It is an honor to pay forward the life-changing opportunities that the University of Illinois has provided for me and my family, and to help build on the rich legacy of excellence in teaching and research that has made the U of I System a key engine of progress for our state,” Koritz said in a press release.
