GEO issues proposed demands, will strike on Unofficial
March 1, 2018
Following four days of striking, the Graduate Employees’ Organization introduced its demands from the University in a press release Thursday afternoon.
“The GEO strongly advocates education for all,” the proposal said.
The proposal’s demands include: at least a month’s job notice, a modest wage, reduction in mystery fees, guaranteed access to health care, resources for families and guaranteed tuition waivers for GEO members.
“All of our students deserve access to a world-class education in their backyard,” the proposal said. “Our proposals will take us closer to that goal.”
The University has yet to comment on the state of negotiations. The strike will continue into Friday.
