Champaign

Robbery was reported at Lacey’s Place, 2508 Village Green Place, around 9 p.m. Sunday. According to the report, the suspect entered a gambling establishment and demanded money from the register.

Criminal damage to property and theft under $500 was reported on the 400 block of Ginger Bend around 12 p.m. Wednesday. According to the report, the offender damaged the door frame and stole packages.

Harassment by electronic communication was reported on the 2000 block of Cynthia Drive around 7:30 p.m. Friday. According to the report, the offender, who has not been located, threatened to kill the victim and the victim’s child.

University

An arrest was made on the charges of driving with a revoked license, fleeing from the police, resisting a police officer and possession of a stolen vehicle near Dunlap Street and Monticello Road around 5:30 a.m. Friday. According to the report, a police officer attempted to stop the arrestee’s vehicle after a records check revealed it has been reported stolen. The arrestee drove the vehicle into a field in an attempt to elude the police and the vehicle was stuck in the mud. The arrestee then attempted to run from the police.

An arrest was made at the Student Dining and Residential Programs Building, 301 E. Gregory Dr., around 4:30 p.m. Saturday. According to the report, the police were initially called by a dining hall staff member who recognized the arrestee and was aware he has been previously issued a no-trespassing notice for University property.

An injury was reported near Second Street and Armory Avenue around 2:30 a.m. Saturday. According to the report, a student was injured after being punched by an unknown person. A witness reported the student was walking on the sidewalk when an occupant of a passing car yelled an obscenity at the student and the student yelled back. The car then turned around, and five people exited the vehicle to confront the student. One of the people struck the student, and the occupants returned to the vehicle and drove away. The student was taken to an area hospital for treatment of head injuries.

Urbana

Noise prohibition was reported on the 1000 block of West University Avenue around 5 p.m. Sunday. According to the report, the people who live in the apartment have been warned before about their loud music. However, on the reported date, the music could be heard from 50 feet outside of the apartment and the residents refused to answer the door for the officers.

Domestic battery was reported at the 700 block of West Elm Street around 1:30 a.m. Sunday. According to the report, the victim and offender are in a dating relationship and the victim claimed the offender punched her in the arm after getting into an argument. No signs of injuries were seen and no witnesses were reported.   

Armed robbery was reported on the 1500 block of Florida Avenue around 8 p.m. Sunday. According to the report, two unknown offenders took the victim’s wallet, and one of the offenders showed a handgun.
