Criminal damage to property was reported on the 300 block of East Armory Avenue around 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday. According to the report, the victim’s apartment window was damaged by an unknown offender.
Burglary was reported at Hyatt Place, 217 N. Neil St., around 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday. According to the report, an unknown suspect walked into the hotel lobby and entered a locked room under construction. The suspect stole three tools, one computer accessory and one cellphone accessory from the company Wells & Wells Construction Company. The workers left the items on site.
Discharge of a firearm was reported on the 800 block of South Mattis Avenue around 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. According to the report, the unknown offender(s) fired gunshots at the victim. The offender(s) shot a parked vehicle and an apartment balcony.
University

Vandalism was reported at the Mechanical Engineering Building, 1206 W. Green St., between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Tuesday. According to the report, a University employee reported the glass of a display case was broken. It is estimated to cost $100 to replace the glass.
Theft was reported at the Package Center in the Student Dining and Residential Programs Building, 301 E. Gregory Drive, on Tuesday. According to the report, a package with the retail value of $85 was stolen. The victim received a notification the package was delivered on Jan. 18. The package was missing when the victim went to pick it up on Jan. 19.
Theft was reported at the Illini Union Bookstore, 809 S. Wright St., around 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. According to the report, the offender attempted to leave the store with three packs of pencils without paying. The pencils have a total retail value of $16.97. A store security officer called the police. The offender was issued a state of Illinois notice to appear in court.
Urbana
Identity theft was reported on the 100 block of Illinois Street, around 10 a.m. on Wednesday. According to the report, the cousin of the victim’s ex-boyfriend had prior authorization to use the victim’s credit card. The offender used the credit card after authorization to use the credit card was revoked. No arrests have been made at this time.
