The Daily Illini won second place in general excellence for daily collegiate newspapers among various other awards at the Illinois College Press Association annual conference in Chicago on Saturday.

Thirty-one Illinois college newspapers competed and over 1,000 entries were submitted in the competition.

The Daily Northwestern from Northwestern University won first place in general excellence for daily collegiate newspapers.
