Champaign

Theft was reported on the 400 block of West Beardsley Avenue around 8 p.m. on Feb 5. According to the report, the victim was trying to sell a phone to the suspect. The suspect stole the phone and has not been located.

Criminal damage to property was reported on the 200 block of East White Street, around 1 p.m. Thursday. According to the report, a suspect allegedly slashed the victim’s tires. The victim later confronted the suspect and both the suspect and the victim began to fight.

Robbery was reported on the 2000 block of Moreland Boulevard, around 4 p.m. Sunday. According to the report, the victim jump-started the suspect’s car and then followed the suspect to Nantucket Cove. Once the victim and suspect arrived at Nantucket Cove’s parking lot, the suspect pushed the victim down and took the victim’s wallet.

University

Theft was reported at Thomas M. Siebel Center for Computer Science, 201 N. Goodwin Ave., around 2 p.m. Sunday. According to the report, the victim left her laptop unattended in a classroom. The laptop was valued at $1,800.

Harassment was reported Monday. According to the report, a University employee has been receiving unwanted phone calls since 2017 from an unknown caller using a blocked number. The employee does not usually answer the phone calls, but she did on Thursday. The unknown caller made sexual comments during that call.
