Krannert Center announces performances in 50th season

The Krannert Center for the Performing Arts has announced the performances and projects taking part in their upcoming 2019-2020 season, the second in a two-season 50th anniversary celebration of the opening of the center.

The center promises a wide variety of performances will grace their stages, boasting a lineup that features both newcomers and seasoned performers who have worked with the Krannert Center previously.

The season will kick off with the eighth biennial Ellnora Guitar Festival from Sept. 5-7, continuing with Great Hall performances from the Venice Baroque Orchestra with mezzo-soprano Ann Hallenberg, the Jupiter String Quartet, Michael Barenboim and the West-Eastern Divan Ensemble, the St. Louis Symphony with violinist Gil Shaham, pianist Murray Perahia, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and many more.

Tickets for the entire season go on sale on July 20 at 10 a.m., available for purchase on krannertcenter.com, by calling 217-333-6280 or in-person at Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, located at 500 S. Goodwin Ave. in Urbana.
