Sexual harassment summit scheduled for Wednesday

By Samantha Boyle, News Editor

A day-long summit, “Cultivating Bravery, Changing Culture: The Illinois Summit on Sexual Harassment,” will begin at 8 a.m. and end at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

The summit, hosted by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, is supposed to “provide administrators a forum to discuss issues unique to higher education and to equip administrators with tools to be culture change agents,” according to a news release from the Illinois News Bureau.

During the summit, a panel of students will share their stories in order to show the impact sexual misconduct can have academically and professionally. In line with these students are national experts who conduct sexual harassment-related research, as well as campus administrators.

The summit will take place at the Student Dining and Residential Programs Building, 301 E. Gregory Drive.
