The annual State of the University address is scheduled to take place Friday from noon-1 p.m., according to an email sent out to University staff, faculty and students.

Chancellor Robert Jones will address some highlights of the past year and updates on future initiatives. He will also address some challenges and progress toward University goals.

Attendees of the event will have the opportunity to write down questions on cards available to them at the entrance. The event will then be concluded by addressing and answering some of these questions. According to the email sent on Tuesday, this form of answering questions has been done over the past several years.

“We’ll make every effort to answer as many different questions as possible,” Jones wrote in his email.

The State of the University address will take place in Illini Union rooms A, B and C.
