Arrest warrant issued for overnight homicide

A 33-year-old male was found unresponsive after a shooting was reported in the 1300 block of Mariner Way around 2:49 a.m. Monday.

Police responded to the scene and found the victim with life-threatening gunshot wounds to the abdomen. He was transported to a local hospital and was rushed into surgery, but later succumbed to his injuries.

The investigation has progressed and police have developed information to identify the suspect as D’Andre Miller in connection to the homicide. An arrest warrant on the charges of first-degree murder has been issued with a bond on the warrant set for $2 million.

Champaign Police encourage anyone with information to contact them or Crime Stoppers and arrangements can be made to remain anonymous.
