Champaign

Theft under $500 was reported at Starbucks, 2702 N. Prospect Ave., around 10:30 a.m. Monday. According to the report, the victim, who is an employee of Starbucks, reported her purse was rummaged through by an unknown offender. One cell phone and a credit card were reported stolen from the purse.

Burglary was reported in the 100 block of East Healey Street around 1 p.m. Monday. According to the report, a laptop and other personal items were stolen from a construction site office.

Domestic dispute, harassment by telephone and disorderly conduct was reported in the 300 block of West Washington Street around 8:30 p.m. Monday. According to the report, the offender threatened the victim in front of officers.

University

An arrest was made on the charges of unlawful use of weapons, resisting a police officer and possession of more than 30 grams of cannabis near University Avenue and Harvey Street around 9:30 p.m. Monday. According to the report, police stopped the suspect after he was driving at high speed. Officers smelled cannabis upon approaching the vehicle and asked the suspect to step out. The suspect then tried to fled on foot but was stopped. The officers recovered a loaded gun the suspect dropped as he was running away.

Urbana

An arrest was made on the charge of domestic battery at the corner of Broadway Avenue and Franklin Street around 2 p.m. Monday. According to the report, the suspect and victim are in a dating relationship. Officers observed the suspect chasing and yelling the victim, but both were uncooperative with police. The suspect and victim both said they were having a verbal dispute.
