International, domestic University spring break trips canceled

As the coronavirus continues to spread, the University has decided to cancel all international and domestic spring break trips, according to a Massmail sent to students, faculty and staff Thursday.

The email also stated that the University is figuring out how to continue courses online in case the University is unable to continue in-person classes.

The University has come up with 12 groups who are working on developing different plans for different issues the coronavirus threat may bring up. For example, the financial group is discussing ways to help students financially whose programs ended early, and what kind of effect that will have on the University financially.

Other groups include academic continuity, campus emergency response, communications, community emergency response, disability issues, events, housing, human resources, research issues, travel and UI System coordination.

A web resource has also been established, covid19.illinois.edu, with information on the coronavirus and the University’s plans and operations.
