Peoria, Mattoon report coronavirus cases

A patient in Mattoon has tested positive for coronavirus late Friday night, according to the Journal Gazette & Times-Courier.

According to the news article, the patient was treated in an emergency room at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.

Mattoon is in Coles County and is about 45 miles south of Champaign.

The first case of coronavirus in Peoria in Woodford County was also reported recently from an unnamed UnityPoint health clinic, according to the Peoria Journal Star.

The patient is a 70-year-old man and is at home recovering.

Peoria is about 89 miles from Champaign.

As of Saturday, 64 coronavirus cases have been reported in Illinois. Other cases have been reported in Kane, Lake, Cook, St. Clair, Cumberland and DuPage counties.
