University introduces credit/no-credit option for classes
March 24, 2020
The University has implemented new academic policies for the 2020 spring semester since classes are online for the rest of the year, Provost Andreas Cangellaris announced Tuesday in a Massmail.
Students may select a “credit/no-credit” grading option for their classes. Courses chosen with the CR/NC option will still be used to fulfill major, minor and general education requirements. There is also no limit to the number of courses a student selects for the CR/NC option.
Instructors may choose whether or not their courses switch to a “pass/no-pass” grading system in certain cases.
The deadline to drop a course without a W and to select the CR/NC grading option has been extended until April 30.
Coursed in professional programs such as College of Law, Carle Illinois College of Medicine and the College of Veterinary Medicine are not included in the academic policy modifications.
