Two offenders were issued notices to appear in court for hosting a nuisance party on the 700 block of South Sixth Street around 12:15 a.m. on Sunday. According to the report, police initially responded to the scene after they were notified of a loud party. Upon arrival, the officers noticed there were more than 10 people in attendance, which is a violation of a local health ordinance.

Urbana

An arrest was made on the charges of attempted battery and retail theft on the 2400 block of North Vine Street around 8:05 a.m. on Thursday. According to the report, the arrestee entered a business and refused to wear a COVID-19 facemask. The victim, the store manager, confronted the arrestee. The arrestee argued with the victim and made unwanted physical contact with him. The arrestee was issued a notice to appear for battery and was subsequently released.

Deceptive practices was reported on the 1700 block of Philo Road around 3:39 p.m. on Thursday. According to the report, the offender deceived the victim into paying him for a rental car instead of the correct car rental company. 

Theft $500 and under was reported on the 1800 block of Philo Road around 4:02 p.m. on Friday. According to the report, the offender, who is an employee at an Urbana business, stole prescription medication from the business.
