A State of Illinois notice to appear in court was issued outside of the Grainger Engineering Library, 1301 W. Springfield Ave. around 9:18 p.m. on Tuesday. According to the report, police were initially called to Davenport Hall, 607 S. Mathews Ave., to respond to a burglary in progress. Two students walked in on the offender who was attempting to steal clothing items from an office. The offender dropped the items, fled the building, and was detained by police several blocks away.
