Teen killed in Champaign shooting

A 17-year-old male was killed after being shot in the 1500 block of West Kirby Avenue Thursday. 

According to the Champaign County Police Department, the preliminary investigation indicates the victim was sitting along the road with another individual when multiple masked suspects came on foot and fired upon them. 

The police are encouraging any resident or business in the nearby area with exterior surveillance cameras to notify the police department.

Tips to CPD and Crime Stoppers can be made anonymously, and Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
