Theft over $500 was reported in the 1400 block of Beech Street around 5 p.m. on Monday. According to the report, unknown offenders pretended to be an electric company and threatened to shut off the victim’s electricity if she didn’t pay them via gift cards. The victim transferred the gift cards to the offenders over the phone.
