Bomb threat reported at Davenport Hall

At 6:14 a.m., an Illini-Alert was sent out regarding a bomb threat at Davenport Hall. 

The campus received an “unconfirmed bomb threat at Davenport Hall,” according to the Illini-Alert. 

Students and anyone else in the area were directed to evacuate immediately. 

At 7:17 a.m., a second Illini-Alert was sent out stating that police were at the scene at Davenport Hall investigating. Still, the Illini-Alert continued to urge everyone to stay away from the scene. 

At 8:45 a.m., a final Illini-Alert said the area was safe to resume regular activities.

The threat occurred during the 47th Annual Illinois High School Theatre Festival. Hundreds of high schoolers were gathered on campus during the threat.
