At 2:46 p.m. Monday, five power outages were reported in Campustown, according to Ameren Illinois. As it stands, there are upwards of 3,000 people in the area left without power across four outages.
The power outage has affected several apartments and grocery stores. County Market is currently closed.
According to a representative from Ameren, the outage was caused by a downed wire. As of around 4:00 p.m., a work crew was en-route and power is expected to be restored in about two hours.
Update: 7:30 p.m.
After more than four hours, the affected areas had power restored at around 7:30 p.m.. County Market reopened as apartments around the county started lighting up again.
