Auntie Anne’s to open in the Illini Union
The Illini Union is located at 1401 W. Green St., Urbana. Late night Tuesday, an attempted robbery took place right outside the front entrance. Two suspects were arrested Wednesday.

The chain restaurant will open late this summer before school resumes in the fall. It will be located in the newly renovated southwest corner across from Jamba Juice and the Illini Union Tech Zone.
“The Illini Union endeavors to meet the requests of students, and we listened,” A release from the Union said. “Auntie Anne’s has been consistently ranked as the top snack request for the past five years, and its homemade and convenient pretzels are perfect for our students on the go. We are excited to share Auntie Anne’s unique and delicious products with Illinois students.”
The opening will mark the second Champaign location with the other operating in Marketplace Mall. The store hours will be Monday through Friday from 10:30 am to 8 pm, and weekends 11 am to 6 pm.
