Champaign

A case of battery was reported at New World Market on the 500 block of South Neil Street around 8 p.m. Wednesday. According to the report, one employee battered another employee. No arrests were made.

A theft was reported at Schnucks on the 100 block of North Mattis Avenue around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. According to the report, two unknown females attempted to steal liquor. When confronted about it, they returned the liquor and fled in a vehicle.

University

A student was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs and for possession of nitrous oxide on the 900 block of South Sixth Street around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday. According to the report, the student was ingesting nitrous oxide from canisters from the driver’s seat of the car.

A theft was reported near Wright and Green streets in Urbana around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday. According to the report, an unknown person stole a flag from the hands of two students during a demonstration. The flag had an estimated value of $15.

A student was arrested for battery near Sixth Street and Springfield Avenue in Champaign around 1 p.m. Tuesday. According to the report, the student physically confronted the victim after throwing the victim’s cellphone during a demonstration.

Urbana

A theft was reported at Walmart on the 100 block of South High Cross Road around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. According to the report, the arrestee attempted to leave the business without paying for items.

A heroin overdose was reported at America’s Best Inn on the 400 block of West University Avenue around noon Wednesday. According to the report, police and fire personnel were called because the victim was neither breathing nor responsive. She was able to regain consciousness through the help of medical officials and was then transported to the hospital for further treatment.
