Fires reported on Second Street

By Aidan Sadovi, Staff Writer

Two fires, one starting from the other, were reported at Second and Washington streets and Second and Hill streets around 9 p.m. and extending into 10 p.m.

According to radio chatter, there was a gas leak and a firefighter spoke of downed power lines “everywhere,” in the area.

The original building where the fire started may “have been a very large garage” according to radio chatter.

By 9:55, firefighters could apparently “smell natural gas.”

Around 10:00, according to radio chatter, the house that was on fire was clear of people although it is unclear when the fire was extinguished.
