The UIPD found missing 18-year-old Krystian Kozieja after a search early Tuesday morning, according to a Facebook post by the department. The University student had been last seen at 2 a.m. near First and Chalmers streets, according to WCIA.
“The student has been located and is safe,” the post said. “We would like to thank the neighboring police agencies and community members for their assistance with the search.”
Earlier this morning, the UIPD announced they were looking for an 18-year-old student. They described Kozieja and asked the public for information about his whereabouts. An increased police presence was reported around campus.
The original post also provided a security photo showing what the student was wearing before being reported missing.
