A man was reported to have brought a firearm into Joe’s Brewery early Sunday morning.
“Secondhand information (unintelligible) that there’s a Hispanic male, 21, red shirt, black (unintelligible) flashed a 32,” a METCAD dispatch said at 12:19 a.m.
Authorities recovered the weapon and confirmed the suspect to be in custody at 12:24 a.m. on the METCAD scanner.
Responders reported that the weapon recovered was a Shadow Systems MR-920. After a screening, the suspect was found to not have a Concealed Carry License or a Firearm Owner’s Identification card.
Officers were seen leaving the scene with the suspect at approximately 12:44 a.m.

UPDATED: Feb. 12
David T. Ugalde of Champaign was confirmed by UIPD to be the suspect arrested at Joe’s Brewery on Feb. 2 after reportedly bringing in a weapon.
Ugalde was arrested for “aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, aggravated assault, violation of an order of protection, resisting and obstructing a peace officer and a FOID card violation,” according to a statement from UIPD.
Officers were dispatched to the bar on Fifth Street at exactly 12:19 a.m. after receiving reports that someone on the premises was armed.
More eyewitnesses confirmed the reports to officers on the scene, adding that the suspect was allegedly a man wielding a handgun.
“Officers made contact with Ugalde, who was initially uncooperative, and located a pistol in the front waistband of his pants,” a statement from UIPD said.
Police also found two loaded magazines and a pocket knife on Ugalde’s person.
