Solicitation for murder was reported in the 400 block of East Eureka Avenue around 8 p.m. on Wednesday. According to the report, the reporting person said the offender contacted him via an online request to have his ex-girlfriend and mother murdered. The reporting person runs the parody website called Rent-A-Hitman.

University

An arrest was made on the charges of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving under the influence of drugs and on a Champaign County warrant for failure to appear in court near Curtis Road and Dunlap Avenue around 5 p.m. on Thursday. According to the report, a witness saw the suspect unconscious in his vehicle. Officers searched the vehicle after learning of the outstanding warrant and smelling a strong odor of cannabis emanating from the vehicle. They found a handgun, ammunition and drug paraphernalia coated with cocaine residue.
