Champaign

First degree murder and aggravated assault were reported in the 1500 block of North Neil Street around 8 p.m. on Tuesday. According to the report, a police officer heard a gunshot in the area of Neil and Edgebrook and upon checking the area, officers were notified of a gunshot victim in that area. Officers found the victim with a gunshot wound in a vehicle that had crashed through a house. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
