The University along with the Champaign-Urbana Public Health Department announced new vaccination opportunities this week for eligible individuals who live or work in Champaign County.

In a Massmail, the University detailed the availability for another round of COVID-19 vaccinations for those eligible under the 1A, 1B and 1B+ categories, and student and University employees. Additionally, CUPHD announced an additional vaccination clinic taking place this Thursday at Meadowbrook Community Church. 

1A eligibility includes health care personnel and residents of long-term care facilities. 1B eligibility includes persons aged 65 and older and non-health care frontline workers. 1B+ includes those with underlying conditions or disabilities not covered in the previous rounds.

Those eligible can receive vaccinations at CRCE, Rantoul Youth Center, Meadowbrook Community Church and Kohl’s Plaza. 

Eligible University employees can schedule a vaccination appointment at CRCE through the University’s MyMckinley portal. University employees can log in with their NetID and password to schedule a vaccination appointment. 

Vaccinations at Meadowbrook Community Church (located at 1902 S. Duncan Road, Champaign) are administered in partnership with Christie Clinic. Online appointments can be made through Christie Clinic’s website.

Vaccinations at Kohl’s Plaza (located at 1901 N. Market St., Champaign) are run in partnership with Carle, and vaccinations can be made online through the MyCarle portal. Phone appointments can be made at (217) 902-6100.

Additional vaccinations are available through area pharmacies, such as Walgreens. Vaccinations through area pharmacies run through their systems. Walgreens’s vaccination appointments can be found on their website.

According to the Massmail, the primary focus for these rounds of vaccinations is giving first doses to as many people as possible.
