The University revealed Sean Evans as its 2026 Spring Commencement speaker in an Instagram post Thursday morning.
The announcement featured Chancellor Charles L. Isabell Jr. and Evans, a University alum, on the set of his hit YouTube series “Hot Ones,” where the two promoted a new, full episode of the show.
“I’m willing, I’m a participant, and I’m along for the ride,” Evans said.
Evans is a 2008 graduate of the College of Media who started “Hot Ones” back in 2015. Since then, the show has garnered over 5 billion views on the First We Feast channel.
The Evanston, Illinois, native has also interviewed hundreds of celebrities, is one of TIME100’s Creators of 2025 and appeared in films like Happy Gilmore 2.

Evans will take the stage for his remarks on May 16 at 9:30 a.m. at Gies Memorial Stadium.
