Illinois Student Council, in collaboration with the University’s cultural and resource centers, is hosting the first Crossroads of Culture event dedicated to celebrating diversity, equity and inclusion across campus.
There will be raffle prizes and giveaways, as well as free food from local vendors. This block-party-style event is Friday from 3-5 p.m. on Nevada Street.
“This event is an amazing opportunity to explore the diversity of our campus,” said Trin Ingram, the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Coordinator of ISC and sophomore in Medicine. “We are so lucky to have these cultural and resource centers that provide so many free resources for students that many people may not know about.”
Crossroads of Culture aims to celebrate the diversity of the University while showcasing the many free resources available to students. The participating houses — Asian American Cultural Center, Bruce D. Nesbitt African American Cultural Center, La Casa Cultural Latina, Native American House and Salaam Middle East & North Africa Cultural Center — will also be giving walking tours of their facilities.
The event is open to all students to come and learn more about the ways in which the University can support them.
