The University’s Student Affairs division, in partnership with the Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District, will host a campus transportation town hall on April 6 from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. in room 104 of the Illini Union.
The event will include a brief presentation from MTD staff followed by an open forum for questions and discussion.
Since 1989, the University has partnered with MTD to provide public transportation for the campus community. MTD operates fixed-route bus services across Champaign, Urbana and neighboring Savoy. University students, faculty and staff ride for free with a valid i-card.
In addition to its regular transit services, MTD also offers SafeRides, an overnight on-demand transportation option for students in campus areas when standard bus services are unavailable.
The town hall organizers stated the event is intended to give campus community members a chance to learn more about campus transportation services and hear directly from MTD staff. MTD is also seeking feedback from the community to help improve its services.
