The Student Election Board is hosting town halls for the student trustee candidates and the presidential team candidates.
At the events, certified candidates will speak on topics relevant to the election. The student trustee candidate forum will be held Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. in Lincoln Hall Theater, and will also be available to livestream.
The candidate that wins the student trustee position will serve on the University of Illinois Board of Trustees and represent the Champaign-Urbana campus.
Current student trustee Ariana Mizan, senior in Business, recently spoke at the University’s RSO Leadership summit. Mizan heavily focused on addressing student concerns on food insecurity.
Each year, Gov. JB Pritzker selects one of the three campus students to hold an official vote. The other two have an advisory role. Currently, Mizan has the official vote. In recent years, it has rotated between the campuses.
