Donald L. Crays, 27, was fatally wounded when he was struck by a driver on November 1 at the 1300 block of W. Bradley Ave, according to a news release from the Champaign Police Department.

Police cited the driver, Melvin M. Monroe, with Failure to Yield to a Pedestrian, which carries a $75 fine.

Allegedly, Monroe hit Crays while trying to pass a vehicle that had stopped to allow Crays to cross the street.
