• Under the fourth amendment, police officers must have a search warrant to enter a residence unless they see a crime being committed and have reasonable cause to enter.
• Do not resist arrest by a police officer, even if you feel they have no right to stop you.
• You do not have to take a breathalyzer test, but if you refuse, your driver’s license may be suspended for one year.
• You do not have to consent to searches. You do not have to give permission to a search of your dorm, apartment, car or yourself. If you give consent, any evidence obtained from the search is admissible against you in court.

• Under the University’s medical amnesty procedures, any students in need of assistance, including minors and students calling on behalf of someone, will not face any disciplinary action for alcohol use.
