Letter: Consideration and thrift this Halloween
September 20, 2006
With Halloween season coming up, it is inevitable that certain people will be descending upon the local thrift stores for costumes. I am just writing to ask those people to remember that the majority of customers at thrift stores are there because they are less fortunate, going through hard times, or otherwise just want to purchase secondhand clothing. Therefore, when you loudly make fun of clothes, laugh and walk around as if you are in a trash dump looking for salvageable items, know that you are being very rude and cruel.
In this day and age, I think everyone could be more considerate of others – changing this specific behavior is a good way to start.
