LETTER: Obama’s experience not a problem

Many people cite Barack Obama’s lack of experience as a reason he is not qualified for the job of president, but a mere look at history reveals the insufficiency of this argument: Abraham Lincoln served only two years in the U.S. House of Representatives and some time in the Illinois General Assembly before he ran for national office. Richard Nixon, on the other hand, had six years in the House and Senate and eight years as Vice President before taking office.

Clearly, when it comes to doing a good job as president, experience isn’t everything.
