Fall 2008 columnist, cartoonist applications now available

The Daily Illini will be hiring columnists and editorial cartoonists for the Fall 2008 semester. If you are opinionated and write well, complete the application and send it to diopinions(at)gmail.com or drop it off at the Illini Media Building at 512 E. Green Street. All applications will be due by the Monday after commencement (May 12th). Applicants will be judged on the quality of their submissions and not on their political persuasions. The successful applicants will be contacted over summer break.

The Daily Illini encourages applicants of all majors, political parties, religions and ethnicities. If you’ve ever wanted to have an impact and show people what you can do, apply now!

The only requirements are that Daily Illini employees must be undergrads or graduate students during the time they wish to write and they may not hold or be running for a elected seat on an local government body. This includes the Illinois Student Senate and the UC Senate.

There will be an informational meeting for all interested persons held at IMC Tuesday, April 22 at 7 p.m.

If you have questions about the application or can’t attend the meeting, please email or call Opinions editor Andrew Mason at 217-337-8366.
