Submit your perspective

Perspectives is this space for appreciating one’s portrait in the vast cultural discussions. Without an acknowledgment of how/why one arrives at their conclusions, society is adrift in meaningless quarrels.

Perspectives is the environment for personal narratives and backgrounds as to why you hold your opinion. These writings will be 400-700 words and reflect your outlooks. Perspectives can range from the coping power of humor to appreciating your childhood minivan. Submissions may either be typed here or submitted as an individual document.

The Daily Illini approaches each perspective individually. We reserve the right to edit pieces for clarity, AP style and word count. If you use facts in your piece, please hyperlink and cite the source. The submission of a perspective does not guarantee publication, but those who will be published will be notified.
