Champaign County Freedom Celebration 5K:

7:30 a.m. Registration Opens ($25)

8:30 a.m. Youth Run

8:45 a.m. Registration Closes

9:05 a.m. 5K Race/Walk

Before the parade begins, 700 are anticipated to gather and run the route. Established in 1994, the event welcomes even the most casual runner. The race begins across from Memorial Stadium on Florida Avenue with registration and parking at the Bielfeldt Athletic Building. Those wishing to register earlier may visit Body N’ Sole Sports up until 4 p.m. Sunday.

Champaign County Parade:

11:05 a.m. Official Start Time

The parade will begin near First and Kirby. This year, there are over 100 groups scheduled to join with the Grand Marshall being Parkland College President, Tom Ramage. Spectators are encouraged to gather around the route and bring a blanket or lawn chair.

Sholem Fourth of July Celebration:

Admission: $6 regular and $9 non-regular

12-1 p.m. Free Face Painting

2 p.m. Watermelon-eating Contest

3 p.m. Adult Cannonball Contest

3:30 p.m. Kid-friendly Cannonball Contest

4 p.m. Free Ice Cream-eating Contest

Evening Firework Presentation:

7 p.m. Musical Entertainment (located on main stage)

9:10 p.m. Announcements and Presentation with Firework Display Following

The main stage will be located on Kirby Avenue between First and Oak Street with musical guest Ryan Ideus & The Feuding Hillbillys. Parking will be available at the State Farm Center and ARC.
