When a person ignores minor impairments and continues to drink, they are at risk for an alcohol overdose, which can lead to brain damage or death. Call for help if a person is exhibiting:

  • Inability to remain conscious or be woken up
  • Slow or irregular breathing
  • Lowered body temperature or pale, blueish skin
  • Seizures
  • Vomiting

Under the University’s Medical Amnesty and Good Samaritan Procedures, a student who calls 911, stays with the person in need of medical attention and cooperates with emergency responders will not be subject to disciplinary action, even if he or she is under the influence.
