Top Daily and Weekly Gold-Making Chores
World Quests
World Quests often reward raw gold, which makes them one of the most consistent gold-making chores in the game, as you don’t have to rely on the Auction House or RNG for profits. You just fly in, do a simple task, and cash out a fixed amount of gold. Easy money, perfect for steady income, especially if you’re running these quests on multiple characters.

Zul’Gurub Secrets
In Patch 10.0.7, Blizzard brought Zul’Gurub back into the spotlight, reintroducing many of its long-lost treasures, including some exclusive crafting patterns that can fetch huge gold at the Auction House.
To unlock the secret loot, you’ll need to defeat one of the dungeon’s bosses using a specific strategy that allows you to loot two parts of the Restored Hakkari Bijou and then combine them to start a quest of the same name. Completing the quest earns you the Relics of a Fallen Empire achievement, which unlocks Zul’Gurub transmogs and the ability to farm Bijous from trash mobs and bosses.
These Bijous can be offered at Tribute Piles found throughout the dungeon. In return, you’ll get exclusive loot boxes containing valuable profession materials, patterns and plans that teach you how to craft rare items, and Zandalari Coins to trade with Rin’wosho the Trader for even more goodies.
Why is this on our list, you may ask? Because some of these patterns are crazy profitable. Items like Warblades of the Hakkari, Reborn can sell for a whooping half a million gold. Since the dungeon is repeatable daily, you can bring in your alts and loot mountains of materials and plans to sell at the Auction House.
If you want to dig deeper into the mechanics of Zul’Gurub secrets, there’s a great full guide over on Wowhead, so we highly recommend checking it out if you’re serious about this farm.
Naxxramas Secrets
Just like with Zul’Gurub, old-school Naxxramas also has some juicy secrets—but this time, the lockout is weekly and the setup takes a bit more work.
To get started, you’ll need to complete a series of quests, including the key one called Darkmaster’s Scourgestone. It’s not exactly a walk in the park, but it’s nothing a determined gold goblin can’t handle. There’s also a full step-by-step guide on Wowhead, so don’t worry—you’re not going in blind.
Once you complete the questline, you’ll earn the achievement Wards of the Dread Citadel, unlocking a special version of Naxxramas. More importantly, you’ll gain the ability to farm Scourgestones from bosses across your entire account.
These Scourgestones can be exchanged for Death’s Bargaining Chips with a vendor named Zackett Skullsmash—you’ll need to unlock him first via a short quest in the old version of Naxx. Once he’s available, you can use the chips to buy all sorts of valuable loot like rare patterns and plans and special Dented Raider’s items that drop random gear when opened. The big thing about these items is that they can roll Lamented Crusader’s gear, which is used to craft Tier 3 gear. Lamented pieces are extremely rare, with very low drop chances, but their Auction House value is insane, often going for hundreds of thousands to even millions of gold.
Even if RNG doesn’t bless you with Lamented loot, there’s still plenty of good gear and mats to sell. Plus, anything that drops from bosses and trash during your weekly Naxx runs adds up to a nice bit of steady gold on the side.
Alt Camping for Rare Elites
The idea here is simple: you park your alts next to the spawn points of Rare Elite mobs across different zones. Once a Rare spawns, you log in, nuke it, and hope for one of those juicy rare drops.
Every zone in Azeroth has its share of Rares. Let’s take Wetlands as an example. Here, you can camp mobs like Ma’ruk Wyrmscale, Razormaw Matriarch, and Garneg Charskull who can drop valuable items such as Scythe Axe, Jurassic Wristguards, Beaded Raptor Collar, Ringed Helm, and others. Depending on your realm, these items can sell for 20,000 to 200,000+ gold—sometimes even more if you’re lucky enough to catch a niche buyer or collector.
The beauty of alt camping is that you don’t need to grind endlessly. Just log in every so often, check your alt army, and take out the Rare if it’s up. Didn’t get that high-end drop? No problem. Try again later. If you’re into passive gold-making and like the thrill of random loot drops, this method is definitely worth mixing into your routine.
Fishing Quests
Head over to the lake just outside of Shattrath City and look for Old Man Barlo—he’s the one handing out a bunch of daily fishing quests. Each quest gives you a Bag of Fishing Treasures, which can contain all sorts of valuable loot. You might get battle pets like Toothy’s Bucket or Snarly’s Bucket—just recage them and toss them on the Auction House for a sweet chunk of gold. There’s also a chance to snag items like Noble’s Monocle or Gold Wedding Band, both of which sell for decent prices.
The best part is that these quests take almost no time at all, bringing in solid profits with minimal effort. It’s one of those chill, low-investment routines that can quietly build up your gold stash over time.
Tol Barad Quests
Another set of super quick and easy daily quests comes from Tol Barad. These quests reward you with Tol Barad Commendations, a special currency you can use to buy all kinds of awesome goodies like toys, cosmetics, mounts, and more.
One of the most valuable rewards here is the notorious Fox Kit, a super cute battle pet that drops only from Baradin Fox at an extremely low rate. So, instead of grinding your soul away, you can just do the dailies, stack up your commendations, and buy Fox Kit directly—or spend the currency on other items that can also net you very nice profits.
