Funeral arrangements have been made for football strength and conditioning coach Yeronimo “Mo” Ciriaco.

A wake will be held Thursday at Ortiz Funeral Home, 2580 Grand Concourse, The Bronx, N.Y., 10458, from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m.

A funeral mass is scheduled for 9:45 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church, 2860 Webb Ave., The Bronx, N.Y., 10468.

Head coach Ron Turner remembered Ciriaco at practice Monday.

“He’s a great young man that we were excited about having here,” Turner said. “He was beginning a new chapter in his life, a great opportunity in his life, and it’s just a shame.”

Turner said the team had observed a moment of silence in honor of Ciriaco, who was killed in a car crash Saturday morning. Ciriaco had only worked with the Illini since Aug. 9. He had previously been employed by the Indianapolis Colts and Indiana University.

“He was a great guy,” Turner said. “He came very, very highly recommended … it’s a shame.”
