CHICAGO – The way Paul Konerko sees it, there is no reason to be surprised. The Chicago White Sox are hitting as advertised.

“Everybody’s chipping in,” he said. “It’s like a revolving door.”

And this time, Juan Uribe and Brian Anderson stepped through it.

Uribe hit two home runs and the defending World Series champions beat the Minnesota Twins 7-3 Sunday for their eighth straight win.

Joe Crede and Uribe hit back-to-back solo homers with two out in the fourth inning to break a 1-1 tie. And Anderson followed Uribe’s three-run shot in the sixth with a solo drive off Twins starter Carlos Silva as the White Sox completed a three-game sweep and won for the 12th time in 13 games.

Crede, Uribe and Tadahito Iguchi finished with three hits, and Anderson had two.

“We already knew they upgraded that whole team, close to $100 million in payroll, and it showed this weekend,” said Minnesota’s Torii Hunter, who robbed Konerko of a two-run homer to center in the third inning.

Jose Contreras (3-0) won his 11th straight regular-season decision, allowing six hits in eight innings. His last loss was Aug. 15, when he allowed four runs in 6 2-3 innings.

The White Sox outscored the Twins 16-3 in the first two games of the series and jumped all over Silva (1-3) for 13 hits in 5 2-3 innings in this one.

“This lineup should be in the top five or six in the league,” Konerko said.

Crede hit his third homer of the season in the fourth to make it 2-1. Uribe then drove a 1-1 pitch to left-center to increase the Chicago lead to two.

After Minnesota’s Joe Mauer homered leading off the sixth, Uribe and Anderson blew the game open in the bottom half.

Uribe followed singles by A.J. Pierzynski and Crede with his third homer of the season. Anderson, who brought a .146 average into the game, then hit his first to make it 7-2.

It was the first time the White Sox hit back-to-back homers in separate innings since June 11, 2000, when Frank Thomas and Magglio Ordonez went deep in the third inning against the Cubs and Ray Durham and Jose Valentin homered in the sixth. And it was the fifth multihomer game of Uribe’s career.

After Iguchi singled with two out, Juan Rincon relieved and retired Jim Thome on a fly to deep left.

“(We’re) facing a hot team that’s got everything going for them,” said Twins manager Ron Gardenhire, whose team lost its fourth straight and fell to 0-6 against the AL Central. “And we’re not really locating the ball as good as we can. That’s what it comes down to.”

Uribe shortened his swing in the batting cage before the game, and it immediately paid off – his average jumped from .179 to .233.

“I felt better today than I had before,” Uribe said.

Anderson let out a big sigh, saying the home run was “huge. I just carried that over to my next at-bat. I felt great.
