ON-AIR: Illini Hockey rules the rink
October 17, 2006
The Illini Men’s club hockey team moved to 6-0 on the young season with a pair of wins over Central Oklahoma at home this weekend. The ACHA newcomer proved to be a tough test, but the Illini were able to pull away for 4-2 and 7-2 victories.
Illinois has now outscored its opponents 46-8 this year. They will host two more home games this weekend against Liberty University. Head Coach Chad Cassel says the fans and seating style at the U of I Ice Arena will always give the team a big home ice advantage.
The puck drops at 7 pm on Friday and Saturday.
