Anderson, Rowe play on in NCAA tournament

The Illinois men’s tennis team may be done competing, but some of its top players aren’t. Junior Kevin Anderson advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tennis championships twice Thursday.
The No. 5-ranked Anderson defeated No. 60-ranked Elliot Wronski of UNLV, 6-1, 6-3 in the singles draw, and along with junior Ryan Rowe advanced in the doubles draw. The pair beat No. 23-ranked Dan Buikema and Mathieu Thibaudeau of Alabama, 7-6(3), 7-5
Anderson will face Greg Ouellette of Florida in the round of 16 Friday at 9 a.m. Rowe and Anderson will meet No. 20-ranked Sam Chang and Jonathas Sucupira of Florida State at 4 p.m. on Friday in the doubles portion.
