The Illini watched guard E’Twaun Moore score 16 points in 6 minutes during the second half Saturday to lose to the Purdue Boilermakers for the second time in two weeks 75-83.
Moore was 10-of-12 from the field in the game and scored 24 points.
“(Moore) was hot today,” Brian Randle said. “I tip my hat to him. He played a great game.
“Once Moore started going, we couldn’t make a shot to save our lives.”

Illinois was ahead 8-2 after the first four minutes, but Purdue managed a 23-8 run and had five threes before halftime. The Illini came as close as three points on two occasions in the second half but would never regain the early lead.
“I thought E’Twaun really carried us down the stretch,” Purdue head coach Matt Painter said. “He’s just a good player.”
“He does a lot of little things,” he added. “That was a very efficient night.”
