Lucas says he will interview for Bulls job

By The Associated Press

HOUSTON – Former NBA player and coach John Lucas says he will interview for the Chicago Bulls head coaching job.

Lucas has a 174-258 career record in six seasons as head coach in San Antonio, Philadelphia and Cleveland. He most recently coached during the 2002-03 season.

Lucas told Houston TV station KRIV on Thursday that he had spoken with Bulls general manager John Paxson about the job.

Lucas spent the last three months of this past season working as a special consultant with the Toronto Raptors.

The Bulls fired interim coach Jim Boylan in April. Boylan took over after the midseason firing of Scott Skiles.
