Illini golfers in fifth place after first round of Wolf Run Intercollegiate

After the first of the three-round Wolf Run Intercollegiate at Wolf Run Golf Course in Zionsville, Ind., the Illinois men’s golf team sits in fifth place. The Illini were paced by junior Zach Barlow’s one-under par round of 70, as the squad combined to shoot a 298.
Barlow is one of six players tied for first place after the opening round. Other scores for the Illini include sophomore Scott Langley’s 73 (tied for 13th place) and sophomore Chris DeForest’s 77 (tied for 36th).
Michigan led the 14-team field with a 286, followed by Ball State’s round of 294.
