October 7, 2008
On Monday morning, two Illini football players were honored for their achievements in the team’s 45-20 victory against Michigan Saturday at Michigan Stadium. Quarterback Juice Williams was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week and linebacker Brit Miller earned Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week honors. Williams recorded 431 yards of total offense against the Wolverines, including 310 yards passing, 121 yards rushing and four total touchdowns. This is Williams’ second time receiving the award this season and the third time in his career. The junior led the Illinois offense to 45 points, the most allowed by Michigan since 1991. Meanwhile, Miller had nine defensive stops, four tackles for a loss and two sacks. The senior pushed Michigan’s offense back a total of 26 yards and helped his team hold the Wolverine offense to 20 points. It was the first career weekly honor for Miller.
