Illinois volleyball wins in three sets

The Illini volleyball team beat Michigan State in three sets on Friday (25-17, 25-18, 25-17). It is the third straight three-set win for the Illini, who beat No. 21 Wisconsin and No. 18 Purdue already this season.

Laura DeBruler led the Illini with 17 kills, and Kylie McCulley chipped in 14 kills and hit .524. Ashley Edinger had 16 digs.

The win keeps the Illini in third place in the Big Ten. They are less than two games ahead of Purdue, who were idle Friday.

For the first time in the Big Ten season, Illinois is idle Saturday. The Illini play host to Michigan and Ohio State at Huff Hall next weekend.
